SWB Equestrian Weeks 2025 will introduce an exciting new addition: Champion of the Champions – an exclusive showcase competition for young Swedish eventing horses with international potential. This initiative is being launched in partnership with Hyperion Stud, where the winner will receive a prize of 10,000 SEK.
The top three horses in each age category (4-, 5-, and 6-year-olds) from the Breeders Trophy in eventing will be invited to take part in this showcase. They will compete for the title Most Promising Eventing Horse, an award that highlights a horse’s versatility, talent, temperament, and athleticism.
The event will take place in the Craaford Arena and will include a comprehensive evaluation, featuring gaits, cross-country elements, and show jumping. The judging will focus on qualities essential for reaching the international elite level in eventing. Scholarships will be awarded to the top three most promising eventing horses as an investment in their future development.
SWB is also pleased to announce that Sweden’s national eventing coach, Fredrik Bergendorff, will be one of the judges. There are also plans to invite an international guest judge – a vision that aligns with SWB’s goal of bringing Swedish sport horse breeding even closer to the global stage.
“Eventing is very close to our hearts. It’s a discipline that truly tests a horse’s balance, bravery, and trust in its rider – where the whole package matters. We see this initiative as a natural extension of our commitment to supporting young talent in eventing, and to creating more opportunities for breeders and riders alike to discover the path forward,” says Vicky Castegren, owner and founder of Hyperion Stud.
With Champion of the Champions, eventing horses are given a long-awaited and well-deserved spotlight during SWB Equestrian Weeks – and the audience gets a unique opportunity to witness the stars of tomorrow in a new and inspiring format.
